Online universities. - May 26th 2009, 12:21 AM

If anyone knows of any good online universities that I could possibly go through to get my nursing degree, I would really appreciate if you'd tell me a little about it. A lot are scams, so I honestly have no idea what to look more into and what not to.

I'll need to find an online university that will accept me with a GED rather than high school diploma and one where I will hopefully be able to get more information about scholarships/government grants.

I really appreciate it.

Actually, now that I start to think about it, I'm probably just going to do it through my local community college.

Sorry about that. This can be closed now unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Definitely go to a local community college or university- as a nursing student, you'll have lots of science classes that require labs, and you can't very well do those online!

What about if I take online classes for the prerequisites to the actual nursing classes that require hands on? The community college here offers online classes. I'm going to have to either do it from home or wait to do it altogether because after my baby is born, I'm going to have to be home for obvious reasons.

Take the prerequisites online if you can. The nursing program at my community college takes three years, one for the prerequisites and two for the actual program. So taking the first few classes online would be good, and then you could just go straight into taking the nursing classes, after your baby is born and all.
