Leaving a club? - February 15th 2018, 03:50 PM

I'm the secretary of a club, however I only joined and got an officer position because I was told. Our club has also been suspended but I asked about the report requirements since the beginning and was told they would take care of it. Later after when I ask how to report or help sending it out in consistently told to go to someone else to help me. I never wanted to join in the first place and disliked it the whole time being there and I'm trying to figure out good ways to leave. It's just contributing to extra work in my life and general unhappiness in the school.

Hey there,

In all honesty, you don't need a reason to leave. You could tell whoever is in charge that you no longer want to be in the club and they can't force you to stay. If you are like me though you'll want a reason to give in case they ask why.

You stated that you are unhappy at school and that it is creating extra work so you could use that. If you are in any other extra curricular activities you could say that you want to focus more on them.

It's definitely not worth staying in the club if you aren't enjoying it and were never all that interested in joining in the first place.

Best regards.
