Asking about an apprenticeship - April 6th 2018, 11:00 AM

I want to do an apprenticeship in agriculture when I finish college. I have looked at many job sites, but haven't had much luck finding one in my area. However, there is a farm nearby which has said they are happy to take me on for some work experience (which I will be doing next week). This place would be ideal as it is less than 20 minutes away from where I live and has a wide variety of different livestock species. The thing is, I haven't seen them advertise an apprenticeship anywhere. I was wondering whether I should I ask them if they would be willing to take me on, but I'm not sure how to go about it. When I contacted them, I said I was only looking for unpaid work experience at this point in time since I am still at college but was thinking about an apprenticeship in the near future. What should I do?

Have you tried looking at colleges that might offer apprenticeships? You could also try checking out the government's website here to see if you can find apprenticeships in your area.

There's no harm in asking the farm about apprenticeships. If they don't offer them, they might be able to point you in the direction of somewhere that does. It's still worth taking up the offer of work experience though as it sounds like it would be valuable to you!

Did you look at Upwork? I saw some job there that you could like.
