History AS exam ?? - May 31st 2009, 03:32 PM

I am actually screwed.
I feel like i know all i need to, but i know that when it gets down to actually writing it im going to go blank and/or i won't structure it the right way.
Im not naturally good at exams like some people are - im more of a coursework gal..
Other people manage to get A's with barely even trying but i always feel kind of dumb when im happy with a B or a C. Thats what i would be happy to get but i really don't feel like im going to be able to atm.
UGGHH

Anyone else doing their History AS on tuesday?
Edexcel exam board?
Is anyone else extremely stressed out?
And does anyone know how many marks for each question?
I think theres a choice of questions and we pick 2 which may be 30 marks each? im not too sure though...

Hey, I'm not taking history but I am in the same boat as you. I have a Philosophy exam on Tuesday that I know I'm not going to do well on but there's always resits right? Plus you could avoid people when they start blabbing out their grades so it won't affect you that much.
Sorry I'm not much help but I wish you the best of luck in your exams.

So am I, don't worry.
I'm taking that exam too, you do have to choose two questions, each worth 30 marks each.
I'm doing The USA in Asiaand Civil Rights in the USA.
Honestly? I have absolutely no idea about Vietnam/Korea...I can't remember any of the places or names or times or.....anything, basically.

Good luck though, I'm sure if you get some revision done today then you won't feel as bad - try not to be nervous and try your best, that's all that you can do.

Yep, im doing The USA in asia (vietnam and korea) and Civil Rights in the USA. Your with edexcel, right?

You say you chose 2 questions - 30 marks each. Is that so you chose one question on the USA in asia and then one on Civil Rights?
Ive looked at past papers but they are little help as it's a new spec this year, like with ALL my subjects grr. With these past papers there are 2 questions which add up to 60 marks just for civil rights alone - it won't be like this will it? Cos that means adding on US involvement in Asia i would have to answer 4 questions... that would be pretty hard in only an hour and 20 mins...

And thanks for all your replies Good luck in all your exams.

Two questions must be answered worth 30 marks each.
You must only answer one question about Civil Rights and one about the USA in Asia.
There will be two questions to choose from for each topic, but you only need to answer one.

I know how you feel, I'm totally freaking out about my uni exams. Try to relax and don't overwhelm yourself with dates and facts etc too much. Take a look at one time period, and then another, and then another. I found with my history it all fell into place the day before the exam.

Good luck and remember you can always resit if it doesn't go to plan!

Take care,
Vicki =)

Ok, i think it's all sorted now
Thanks for your help and good luck in all your exams!!
And Vicki, I get what you mean about overwhelming with too many facts, thats one of my downfalls, it just all gets too much with the details. I need to remember to analyse it all instead of writing too many details.
Anyway thanks again
