Decided on my career goal(s) - November 3rd 2023, 10:19 PM

So some good news. I decided to settle on a career and what I wanna be when I 'grow up'. I am going into data entry, customer service, and office/clerical stuff. I am volunteering at an office to gain skills and experience actually. I am just happy I am getting help from a job coach / employment specialist on it finally.

So has anyone else been set on a career path? Are you still thinking and deciding?

Your career path sounds great!
My ultimate goal would be to be a professor doing qualitative research but I don’t know if that will happen. I’m still looking for a backup plan.

It's good to hear that you have settled on a career- and data entry/clerical work sounds interesting! Best of luck

At the moment, I'm debating something in animal care but I want to explore that a bit more and try to volunteer to get experience and figure out if it is what I want to do. Alternatively, I have skills in research so I could do something like that. Or something with writing. Or I could do retail. But I'm mainly focusing on animal care these days.

I am 32 and I don't have a limited work history. It can be an issue specially for temp and staffing agencies. I am hoping I can get into an office job part time.

I think it's great that you've chosen a career path for yourself and that your volunteer work is helping you gain the experience that you'll need!

My career goal is to become a licensed marriage and family therapist. I'm still a bit away from achieving that goal, but I'm currently working on my masters degree in clinical psychology, which is the next step on that path for me!

Good luck! My goal is to work in an office setting, preferably a quiet one that has a relaxed pace.

That's so good that you've settled on your career! You must be so proud of yourself and great job for volunteering to get some valuable experience.

My career goal is to become a teacher and work my way up to become a principal.
