Unhappy Need help convincing my Dad to let me switch schools. - July 28th 2009, 01:21 AM

Here is the situation:

I have gone to school in a near-by town every since kindergarten. It sucks, because I simply don't fit in there and I feel out of place. I have gone to school in this other town because my Dad is dead set against me going to school here, he thinks there's drugs and fights and that it's horrible, but it's not.

Just this past year, I've started socializing more than I used to with kids in my hometown, and in one year, I've got more friends here than I do where I go to school. I want a chance to start over, for things to work out for me and no one has any preconceived notations about me. So it's very important to me that I really convince him.

Things I have prepared to tell him:

The state scores here are top in the state.

The drugs are worse where I go than they are here (almost every kid in my grade smokes pot).

I simply feel out of place in both towns by the current method.

The school basically has a 0-tolerance policy for drugs and violence.

The teachers spend more time making sure you understand things and preparing you for tests.

The kids I know that go there say it's great.

There are more classes, and thus, more opportunities available for me here.

The people are way more friendly.

He can talk to the school advisors/principal/whatever and look at the website.

I will behave perfectly if he lets me go here and maintain at least an A/B average.

My Mother's been out of work, but I can just ride the bus here so wherever her next job is, it won't be a hassle to take me to school.

I think those are all I have so far. What are some other aspects that might persuade a skeptical parent?
