16 Colleges and I Can't Click Submit. - September 10th 2009, 11:44 PM

So, I believe to have completed my college list.... the problem is that it has 16 schools on it... They usually say the most you should have is 12... which makes me already really stressed.

Anyways, this means I had about 34 open response questions (maybe more!). I've been working on them all summer and am finishing modifying a few of my essays (I only really have a few hours of work left). Once I modify the last few.... my applications will be complete.

Sounds good, right?

I have a really big... fear of submitting my applications
It's terrifying... and I honestly can't imagine having to click submit.
I've built in a full two and a half months (before apps are due) to just.... click the submit button...
I have a fear that I will have a spelling or grammar mistake...
Or that I forgot a few community service events on my resume..
What if I get rejected from all the schools?!
What if I spelt my name wrong...

I am worried I'll never get the courage to actually... submit them... and then all my work will be wasted away!

I mean, I've had at least 5-6 people read all of my essays, and check my supplements and such.... but I can't imagine being rejected for something stupid

It's really.... freaking me out.... especially because I will start submitting these applications in a matter of 3 weeks!

How can I make this application process less stressful?
Has anyone else felt the same way?

Trust me, I know this is dumb

Me too, you are not alone. The only app I have gotten in so far was done over the phone.

If you have to, make someone else click submit. You can only check over applications so many times before you just have to submit them.

Tiny mistakes won't stop you from being admitted, I promise. I had a few ridiculous grammatical errors and other mistakes on a few applications and I just accepted without any issues. Colleges look for the core things for accepting students, tiny mistakes will go pass them.

You'll be FINE!

I was told the most was 8! LOL.
It will be okay! And you will get into college. Just breathe . Have your Mom click submit for you!

There is always hope. PM me anytime.

Have people double check them all for you, just to make sure that you don't miss mistakes. And if you can't click submit, have someone do it for you.

Think about it, even if you have mistakes (they will not care about tiny mistakes, really.), that's so much better than never actually submitting them.
Stop reading over them; get a few other people to look at them instead. Get them to click submit if you can't do it yourself. [:

Good luck!

It's not possible to be rejected from 16 schools. I know it's nerve wracking, but you just have to do the best you can. I've done that on tests, I can't tell you how many times I've turned in a final, only to be plagued by the idea that I either forgot to put my name on it or skipped questions or pages by accident! Just do the best you can because it is good enough.
