College, just want to know I'm prepared. - September 15th 2009, 09:08 PM

Today I went and brought some stationary bits for college, I'm taking business and administration I just wanted to know I'm fully prepared really.
I brought all the basic stationary you can think of,
Pens, pencils, ruler, rubber, sharpener, pencil case and note book, is there anything else I could possibly have to buy because I start college on Thursday.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Paige,

Your basic stationery should be okay, if you need anything else they'll tell you when you start. It might be worth taking a calculator along too - you probably won't need it but for business it might come in handy occasionally.

I wouldn't worry about buying anything else unless your college tells you you'll need it, it sounds to me like you have the essentials

Good luck at college!

I think having the basics is a good start because at least you've got most of the stuff and you're prepared. I agree that a calculator might be handy to have, even if you don't think you'll use it, you never know when it might come in handy. Other then that, I'd just wait and see if they say you need anything when you start.

You sound prepared so you shouldn't worry They will tell you when you start if you need anything extra. Best of luck with college; I hope it all goes well for you!

It may also help to get a few things of note cards. This way you can take notes, and maybe even make like flashcards.

I know something I found extremely useful in all my classes was a portable hole puncher that goes inside a notebook. Teachers give you papers or handouts and never hole punch them and unless I keep them organized in a notebook I get real unorganized and stressed in the process.

This idea is good, but I personally never got many handouts in my classes.

I say just go to the first couple classes test it out, and get what you need from there. You seem fine to me anyway. Good luck with the classes!

I tend to use the polyenvelopes where each course has a certain colour that way I can keep the older notes at home nice and crisp. I have a small accordion folder that I take to classes in order to organize the notes there, along with any lab reports and such. Each course has its own spiral notebook, usually more than one because most classes tend to gobble up one spiral notebook. As you may have noticed, I don't use binders and rarely use loose-leaf papers.

If I were you, I'd buy an extra pack of printer paper, calculator (have one as a spare), white-out and depending on how you study, post-it notes or flashcards.
