I am a senior this year in H.S. and am already feeling so much stress. I am taking all honors this trimester along with one AP class. The other two honors classes are pretty straight-forward and easy, but just with a lot of work. However, AP French has been hell for me so far.

I have two honors projects due soon for my two honors classes. Both assignments involve reading books and unfortunately, I'm not sure which one I should read first (I've started both of them, but kind of put it off) since they are both due near each other. I have absolutely no idea what I should do!

As for AP French, I have not been doing well on the tests/quizzes. AP French is so different from previous French classes. I don't understand much of the material and I'd ask my French teacher, but he doesn't delve deep into the grammar part of French. Instead, he tends to focus on French culture. I can't say I suck at French, but I'm not very good at it either. I have found I have so much trouble with listening and reading comprehension at times. I tend to forget pretty simple things I learned a few years back. Basically, I'm not sure if I have much of the foundation down, which probably sounds crazy since I am taking AP French. I'm not sure what to do about AP French and it is causing me the most stress.

In October, I will be taking the ACT again and this will be my last time to take it. I have no idea when I can find the time to study, because of my courseload and I work part-time (all weekends and one weekday, which kind of screws up my time to do homework/study). Along with the ACT, I am doing several EC projects that I hope to finish soon.

Ah, I'm just under so much stress and anxiety right now. I have no idea what to begin first, because there is always something looming in the background for me. I always think I can handle all of this, but I am beginning to find out that it is extremely difficult to balance, especially with the added pressure of college applications. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance.

Any advice?

How did Ghandi ever withstand the hunger strikes and all,
Didn't do it to gain power or money if I recall,
It's to give; I guess I'll pass it on

Re: Completely stressed out - September 29th 2009, 04:01 AM

Well im not sure how much advice i can give you but i dont want yah to feel like no one cares so ill try
Id say since Fench is causing you the most stress to focus on that first,Well ive been taking french myself for about to years and i find i very easily forget simple things i learned before,if your teacher doesnt delve into the grammar part so much id say try telling em that,or if you forget simple things sometimes go back and review or them by yourself? If your teacher doesnt help you with grammar then maybe ask someone else in your class who understands it better? Also a study method one teacher taught me was to use notecards to help me memorize french words and it was rather helpful.
Defintely id say try your best to find the time to study for them ACT maybe just temporarily take a break from working weekends just so you have time to study for it?
Also remember since you are so stressed to relax and take a breather sometimes so you dont get to overly stressed.i wish you the best of luck with all your work.
I tried to give as much advice as i could, hope it helped

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
