Hi Jeff,

Do you think that your parents won't be happy if you changed your major?

Explain to your parents why you want to switch, and how it would benefit you. Perhaps it is now more suited to the career path you wish to pursue? You need to do what's best for you, as your future career might depend on it.

I hope that your parents will be receptive to your decision.

It's your life, figure out what's best for you and go for it. You're the one who will have to do the work and live with the decision. I kind of went through the same thing. I was going to be a pediatrician until I realized that I couldn't handle the math and chemestry so I decided on psychologist. My parents both have psych degrees and jobs that have nothing to do with the field, so it took me about a year and a half to convince them that they weren't changing my mind. It still comes up every once in a while, but they've accepted it because they understand that I have a passion for it and that I'm not changing my mind no matter what they say.
