College Application and Essay - November 10th 2009, 11:41 PM

I'm getting insanely overwhelmed worrying about applying for college. I'm like, literally crying over it. Insanity.

First, if anyone would mind, could someone look over my personal essay and make corrections as you see fit? Also make sure it doesn't make me look like more of a nut case than I am?

Second, does anyone have any tips for the whole application process? I could use them.

Third, and last, who all should I ask about letters of recommendation? How many should I have? I've got two but neither are from school. I'm not sure if any of my teachers like me enough to write me a letter of recommendation. Haha. Could I ask a teacher I had in like... Freshman year? Or is that weird?

Send me your paper, I'd be glad to give it a look.... shit I need to write my paper.

I cried over college. It'll work out fine in the end, but it's hella stress. Get as many letters of rec as you can, try to get at least one from your school but I feel like out of school ones tend to be more meaningful-- do the schools you are applying to require letters from teachers from schools?

General things: pace yourself. don't do the apps in the last minute, set deadlines for mailing the suckers out. print all your essays and read them out loud before sending, and apply to lots of schools. Why? Because it's more likely that one of them will give you more money, and choices are good come April.
