Question Math doesn't suck - January 7th 2010, 03:41 AM

Has anyone ever read or heard of this book? It's written by a child actress (that went on to become a math whiz) and it's supposed to teach math in a way that appeals to young girls but all the reviews I've found are by parents and teachers.

I heard about it and I was thinking of getting it for my baby cousin for her birthday next month. Thoughts?

I haven't heard of it myself but it sounds like it'd be pretty good. I think when it comes to maths people learn in different ways and sometimes things just don't click when you're being taught by a teacher so having a book written by someone who young girls can relate to would be a great help. I think buying it for your cousin is a fab idea (:

Yea I think a book to get children involved in math more enthusiastically is great. However when you say baby cousin I wonder the age. The title "math doesn't suck" seems to target preteen adolescents and your cousin's parents may get offended with the title if she is too young. Just a thought (:

I believe that everything happens for a reason.
People change so that you can learn to let go.
Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right.
You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself.
And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Oh oh, sorry... no, she's 10. She's not *actually* a baby.

... I really have to get out of the habit of calling her that.
