Question FAFSA - March 24th 2010, 01:54 AM

[color="indigo"]I filled out my fafsa for the 09-10 year and didn't get any money because I didn't correct it. But I went to the financial aid office and they told me to fix it. I just filled it out again and they told me I'd probably get a check in the mail once everything is good. My EFC is zero... How long does it take to get here and how much do you guys think I'm going to get?

Well, at least here in Illinois, you don't just get a check for aid when you file FAFSA. Your FAFSA just determines which grants you get, if you qualify for scholarships, etc.. Not sure if it's different in California. It could be that you'll get a check from your school as a refund for what you paid or something, but not sure what you would be getting a check for.

FASFA is "Federal" so I'm assuming it'd go all the way across the board?

I have no idea, I just got a letter saying my information did not match or was incomplete. I hate all this money bullshit. I'm fairly sure it's not just given to you in a check though, that might be a different loan or program through the school? I could be wrong though.
