Any suggestions for fundraising? - March 30th 2010, 05:51 AM

I work at Best Buy and there's a group within it called Viewpoint, which is basically someone from each department from the store (that aren't managers) and they get together and decide what events/parties/what needs improved in the work area.

Basically similar to a student government in high school.

Well, there were a lot of issues this year, and we were unable to get a budget for Viewpoint to do things with the other employees. So we have to come up with different ways to raise money.

The only thing I can really think of that would be useful is something similar to a bake sale. Us make cookies, rice krispy treats, etc. and selling them to employees for .50 a piece or what not in the break room.

But what other suggestions could you guys come up with?

Cake sales will be good, we did one at church the other week and got more than 100! As Vicky said, sponsored events are always good. You could do a walk, swim, bike ride, silence.. The list is endless!
Would it be possible if you could all work together and run some kind of "event" or show? If you all know people, you could get some dancers, singers, bands, magicians. Various people like that to perform all night and let people buy food/drink etc and sell tickets. I think they raise a lot of money altogether. Although that may cost more in terms of organising etc. Would be good fun though!

Take care.
Anna
