open thisis statements - May 1st 2010, 01:48 PM

I am a senior in high school(for those of you who do not know that is the final year in high school). The teacher is wanting us to try our hand for the first time at open thisis statements. I am not really sure how to do it so I asked him about it having gotten one I thought would work. He said it needed some more work.
here it is
Lise in The Ring is an extremely well-rounded and diametric character; unlike, the others, who are fairly flat.
any ideas to help would be great.

A thesis statement is intended to tell your reader what your entire essay/paper is about. They can be tricky to formulate and usually take the most work out of the whole paper.

Your current statement seems limited to one specific portion of whatever you may be writing about. Here are some resources that help me, since explaining how to fix a thesis is not my strong suit:

See I am fairly good at the closed ones but not too sure about the open ones. What do you mean it seems limited?
