So I'm in this academic competition called academic decatholon. Don't know if any of you know what it is, but it focuses on mulitiple different parts of learning (i.e. math, essay, literature, art. etc.) Well there are two different speeches, prepared and improptu. I just wanted to knowwhat would be an appropriate topic for the prepared speech?
Any ideas would help
Thanks bunches
It can be any topic that's within the rules. Something about science, politics, math, sports, music, etc.. . I'm not going to give you a list of topics to choose from as that'd take far too long for me and I cant be bothered to do so.
The important thing to remember about speeches is that they should be about something you like as well as something interesting or informative. 'How I want to change the world' is an easy one.
Just find something you are passionate about and I'm sure it will go well. One of my friends likes to stick to tropical fruits for all her speeches and she does pretty well. But that's only for school and not competitions.
Good luck!
The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
Everyone has a story. What's yours?
Well my suggestion is make sure it's something you know a lot about or it might be too short. If it can be about anything then maybe talk about a hobby you do.
Basically, with the prepared speech, find out what the limits with the rules are, and find a topic that you're REALLY passionate about so that you're able to speak well about your topic and that when you educate your audience about your topic, that it can appeal to whatever the audience you're speaking to.
I know that's not a LOT of help, but maybe it can help you to do your best?
Good luck!
