Choosing a career - August 12th 2010, 05:02 PM

im more or less torn between the 2 loves of my life
science
and
music
Iv been working on a bit of a record for the summer but it wont be completed anytime soon and its certainly not something I would ever just try to sell ( Im only 14 hah) . Although My plan Is to major In science during Uni, after first year figure out a more indepth major ( either, quantum physics/ physics, medicine or biology)
and then on the side or perhaps once I graduate, work on a little album, try to sell a couple, im not looking to become big but I am looking to become known in a sense, It be somthing punk rock like with deffinite indie influences and some techno-ish tracks here and there
sorry im getting carried away
ANYWAY
im told that im "good" but I dont know If I should go for it :/
frankly I want to know,
Am I making the biggest mistake of my life?
Is it too much to expect?

I like the advice of trying what you love for one year and if you can't earn a living, then go for something realistic. It hopefully wouldn't hurt too much to try, but I wouldn't do it at the expense of a career or bills.

One issue is that there are so many kids out there who try to get known that it is near impossible to become well-known outside of your local area.

Go with science, it's a career for life unlike music.

I mean you can always try music for a year or two
