Uh.... - September 17th 2010, 08:00 PM

So I have three periods that are guy teachers in a row. What really isn't good is that when I'm on my period, I need to change the pad while in math. He makes you tell him what you need to do when you ask to leave the room. I asked today, he just told me to wait because I wouldn't tell him. I really wouldn't mind telling a female teacher, but he's a guy and it would be repeated in front of my entire class. What do I do?

Well, a male teacher shouldn't announce why you need to leave the class to everybody. Perhaps you should try saying something like "I have a personal issue" or "It's a female problem" or something else along those lines. I can't imagine you are the only one who has ever gotten their period in his class. He should understand.

Re: Uh.... - September 17th 2010, 08:52 PM

can't you change it before you go to the lesson? surely you have enough time in between lessons to quickly pop to the toilet? but if you must go during the lesson just say that you need to go to the toilet. if he's hesitant just look at him and say 'no.. i really need to go..' or something like that.

I think Elle has the right idea, just ask him again. And just tell him 'no, i really need to go'. He should understand that women need to go to the loo sometimes!

Hey Eclipse!

I've been in the same situation you are and it can be quite a pain. Like the others have said why not try walking up to his desk and asking. If he says no or asks why tell him its a girl issue.

I've actually told a teacher that I was on my period and thats the reason I had to go because he kept saying no . You may not be comfortable enough to say that though which is competly fine.

Also you could try going before class starts.

I'd go before class starts, but if you're not in your seat working on warm-ups the second the bell rings you have to go and get a late pass. That classroom in on the other side of the school from where my forth-period class is. The nearest bathroom is three hallways away. There isn't a chance that I could do all that and get to class on time.

You could try going 2 classes before that. You may not think you need to go but you never know and that way you wont need to during whatever hour it is you normally have to go.

Re: Uh.... - September 19th 2010, 06:53 PM

Just work it out so that you can go before the class or two classes before, I cannot see any logical reason why that wouldn't be possible. TBH if I was a teacher I wouldn't let any student of mine leave to go to the toilet no matter what the reason (unless they were ill). It's just unnecessary and there is always a way.

Hey

Well if three periods are approximately three hours then as long as you put on a fresh pad at the end of the lesson before you should be fine! If you really don't want to do that then I'm sure your teachers will understand, after all, they are grown up and know all about periods. If you tell him you have your period I'm sure he won't repeat that infront of your class.

Even though he's male, don't forget that he knows all about periods anyway; just tell him you need to use the bathroom and if he says no, say something like "it's a girly problem". If anything, the mention of a period will frighten most guys so he's bound to let you go and deal with it. He has no reason to tell the whole class... I think you're worrying too much.

Why can't you just ask to use the bathroom? They shouldn't fight that. When you gotta go, you gotta go!

But definitely say something about having your period. It will scare him and maybe he won't ask you again

He shouldn't even be asking. It should be a simple "can I go to the bathroom" it's a little messed up if they need more info than that.

Re: Uh.... - September 28th 2010, 12:26 AM

It may seem a little ackward to you to tell him that you need to because you are on your period, however, seeing as how he is a teacher of students that are old enough to be having periods, i'm positive that he has dealt with it before. He probably also has sisters or maybe even a wife or daughters of his own. Periods tend to intimidate guys, but theydo know that they exsist, and most guy teachers will understand that you need to go. Also, maybe you could write him a letter or tell him before class starts that you will probably need to leave during his class because of that. If you don't distrupt class then teachers tend to be more lenient and understanding about things.

Hope you can figure it out!

God Bless. =D

(Sorry if I've misspelt things, I'm on my boyfriend's computer and it's not cool enough to have spell check like mine. xD)
