Thumbs down Stuck in a rut - December 1st 2010, 06:35 AM

Lately Ive been having a little trouble with school and i'm not quite sure how to proceed. I'm currently a sophmore in high school and my grades are at an all time low. Ive always had sub par grades throughout my school life due to the fact that I dislike homework and the way the classroom works, even though I consider myself a very smart person.

But now its gotten to a point where i'm in a dangerous zone and I need to get out of it quick. Ive been late almost everyday because I cant get out of bed in the morning knowing that I wont get anything done even if I go to school. Consequently I miss one or two periods which puts me behind even more.

I can't seem to make myself do any homework or even class work for that matter. Ive pretty much dissociated myself with school and I force myself to care about it, even though I know I should.

It seems that school just doesn't work for me and I wish there was alternatives that would allow me to do it in a way that I can succeed in the things I know i'm capable of. I would love to be able to go to college and pursue a career that I enjoy but at this point in time the only viable option I have is to drop out and flip burgers for the rest of my life.

Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
