University Question (UK) - January 26th 2011, 02:00 PM

Okay so my UCAS app has been sent off and I've had an offer from Lincoln so far. Lincoln's like my last choice university to go to out of my choices but they've sent me the forms for accommodation already.

I don't have to fill them out straight away, right? Since obviously I still need to elect my firm choice and insurance choice and if Lincoln isn't going to be one of those choices (unless I only get 2 offers) then is there any point filling them out at all?

Thanks in advance

I would wait until you get all your offers before you apply for any accomodation. I know with some accomodation they ask for deposits and you would lose that if you didn't take the accomodation so you definitely best to wait until you have got all your offers.

Re: University Question (UK) - January 26th 2011, 03:52 PM

That's odd. Last year mine only sent accommodation stuff if they were my firm or insurance.

I think it depends on their accommodation policy. Some I have seen are first come first serve other say you are guaranteed a place in accommodation if you don't live in that city or if it is your firm choice. Others ask for a deposit which might be non refundable.

The only problem may been if they ask about a deposit. I would refuse to give them it unless it was your firm choice. Last year I paid a deposit for accommodation in my firm choice and then didn't meet the grades and had to phone them and got the money back in October.

If they don't ask for a deposit I don't see any harm in filling it out really. If you don't pick it as one of your choices then they will just discard it.
