I Don't Know What To Say To Hiring Manager - August 31st 2011, 01:24 PM

This whole thing may seem stupid and I know I'm blowing this out of proportion, but I'm so shy that I have the hardest time trying to make up my mind and figure out what to say and what words to use when talking to people. I called the hiring manager at Pizza Hut the other day to check up on an application I submitted. He asked me my name and what position I applied for. He said he would interview me tomorrow at three, but I asked could we reschedule since I wouldn't be able to make it at that time. He said he would check his calendar and see what other times he would be available and call me back. So, I said okay and hung up. Silly old thought well hey, it should only take a few minutes to look at his calendar since they're not even open yet and redial my number since I didn't give it too him (and I have a feeling he didn't right down my name so he could look up my application for my phone number.) He didn't call me back, so I plan on calling him back, but I'm having difficulty in thinking what to say to sound all professional. I just don't want to blow this and sound stupid over the phone.

Hey there
It's alright to be a little bit nervous. If he doesn't call you back within 24 hours, perhaps you could call him back and simply say something along the lines of, "Hi, this is Noelle calling back in hopes of rescheduling our interview? I have a few times that I'm available, if that would make this scheduling process easier on you." Or something like that, anyway. Just don't call back TOO soon, give them time, and they'll like the fact that you care this much about the job, probably
Best of luck!!
