I think I'm going to give up.

Two weeks ago Monday, I had that interview with Speedway SuperAmerica (Gas Station). I thought the interview went well. I explained that I had applied, interviewed and had been given a job with a different district of Speedway's in the past, but the job never went through. I also had never received a call explaining why, and when I tried calling them and left several messages, I still never a received a call.

Now, it's been two weeks, and after the interviewer said to contact him in two weeks if I don't hear from him, I still haven't. I called Monday, but he was doing interviews at a different store, so I waited until yesterday to call again. He was in the middle of an interview when I called, so I left my name and cell phone number with his assistant, and I still never received a call.

I've become increasingly disappointed in this company, almost to the point where I won't give them any business. I don't understand what could possibly be going wrong, and what I did to not even get a courtesy call saying "I'm sorry, but we've given the job to someone else." The sad thing is, my boyfriend works for Speedway, and he generally likes it. How come he got the job and I can't? He's been working there for a while. My self-esteem is just flying out the window, as I've been out of work since October of last year.

I just want to give up on this, and not even bother anymore. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

You shouldn't allow self esteem get low due to this!

Sometimes, one person can just get extremely busy. This may be the case. I would call again today and see what happens and call again Monday if you get nothing today and then go from there. If you get no answer come Monday, let go and start looking else where.
