Does anyone else have a teacher they love? - September 16th 2011, 08:36 PM

Wasn't sure where else to put this...

So I was wondering. Does anyone else have a teacher that they are so close to that you could say you love them? Not in a romantic way, but in a friendship/parental way?

Definitely now that I'm in my final year. There are a lot of teachers I really get on with.

Especially one of the business teachers.
My Maths and RE teachers are awesome too

My dance teacher. She's all around amazing (running a dance school, awesome choreography), AND she's super nice and encourages me

From school it would be the english teacher I had in freshman year. He's so cool and he gives everyone the best advice. He's crazy and whacky and screams randomly in the middle of class to get your attention. He's the first one I ever admitted SHing to. (through a poem I turned it) and he was totally cool about. Now that I'm a senior he barely says hi in the hallway anymore but I still admire him a lot.

Outside of school I love my drum teacher. I wish he was my dad. He's cool and funny and any time I'm having a bad day he just seems to make me happier. He never makes me feel bad when I don't have time to practice and he's always talking about how he felt the same way as a teenager.

I had a teacher like that in about third grade, she was like a grandmother to me and I was her favorite I also have a really nice teacher this year (though I'm not really close to her personally) on camp she came into the cabins and kissed each girl good night (it was really awkward for some people, but I thought it was sweet).

Yes!!! Thought I was the only one for a while. She is my old primary school teacher. She is like a motherly figure and now my role model. I stayed in contact with her for a while. Then she surprised me by adding me as her friend on Facebook lol. Don't worry it's all legal, I'm 18 and left primary school when I was 11, so she is no longer my teacher lol

Well I wont say love, thats extreme. But teachers I really admire and some I consider role models, have a bunch of those. My 5th grade teacher, in that she worked so hard to hone our fraction skills. My sociology teacher in A levels, was wonderful! I appreciated the way he behaved with students, so enthusiastic of passing on all accesses of knowledge to us. Discussed everything within or not within syllabus, managed time well. Had the best discussions with him, still hope to sit go back and sit with him and continue. He was a role model. Not just a great teacher, but a human being. And then there was my literature teacher. She was sort of like a parent I guess. Very cute and discussed interesting topics with her too, ofcourse more literature than social. We could say we loved her. These two teachers really affected us in a positive way. My psychology teachers I had in college. I appreciated them too.

Yes. I went to a tech school and I chose Biotechnology as a trade. Which means I learned that for four years. (Kind of like a college/uni major). So, my Bio teacher was like a father to me. He believed in me when I didn't. He told me his experiences and told me I could go very far in my life if I just believed in myself and stuck to what I wanted. I just graduated this June. But, I got an email from him saying: "It's going to be a hard transition, from high school to college, but I know you can do it. You were one of the best students and I know you have high potential to succeed." So, yeah. I think of him as a big role model in my life and he's retired now. But he told me he was going to come to my college graduation. I'm so glad he's keeping in touch. It's an odd thing to find a mentor in a high school teacher AND keep in touch.

In high-school, it'd probably be my math teacher as well as my biology and chemistry teacher.

In university, it'd be my professor for neuroendocrinology and intro to neuropsychology. She was very caring for all her students with some tough love because she'd let you talk to her about any problems but wouldn't be a shoulder to cry on. She reached out to several students in ways that I've never seen other profs do, yet she didn't favour them in marking or in class, she could stay completely objective.

Also, my professor for first year psychology and forensic psychology as he inspired me to continue with psychology. I initially went into it because of the series Criminal Minds and I wanted to be a FBI criminal profiler but when the first-year class wasn't what I wanted at all, I was frustrated as those aspirations were crushed. However, when he told me of forensic psychology, I was interested. When I got into that course, it was truly amazing because he brought in FBI profilers to demonstrate how they would proceed with a case. He also gave us various typologies of psychiatric disorders and some were from Criminal Minds, so it gave me hope that I could get through with that hope of profiling.

Lastly, it'd be my professor for animal morphology because he was a hilarious 76-year old man who brought a completely different view to the field of biology and diagnostics. The year before I had him there was another prof who wasn't well-liked but the 76-year old prof came back from retirement to teach. He was able to make a two-hour lecture seem like it was only 30-minutes long because it was exciting, both from his tangent rants to his view of biology.

In year 11 I loved my English teacher. She was lovely.

The teacher I think I love the most is my year 6 teacher. She came to my birthday party
She's so funny...and she's amazing. She'd had some bad publicity due to an incident at the school she worked at, but she gained a lot of support for it. Parents love her. Kids love her....

I had a second grade teacher that I actually kept in contact with for years and she became very close with one of my other friends too.

My sophmore gym teacher/senior premed teacher seriously the best teacher ever because she treated us like human beings (unlike other school personel)

A few of my college professors for letting me vent every once in a while and because I felt like they acutally cared instead of listening because they felt like they had to.

I have to put my self defense master from my last semester here too, even though I was terrified of him the whole time. He helped me imensely without even knowing it so even though we weren't close, leaving him out just doesn't seem right.

I go to a tech school and we have this trade Information Systems Technology, and that's my trade. The freshman/junior teacher is amazing. I can tell her like anything and know she won't take it the wrong way, and she's kind of laid back and her personality is just amazing. I wish she was like a cousin or something and I hope that we can keep in touch after I graduate. I'm only a sophomore now so I have time.

In high school I loved my english teacher, she was so lovely. We were quite close as well because I used to spend my P.E lessons with her cos she had a free period so we talked a lot. Im in college now, all of my teachers are nice but I especially like my form tutor and psych teacher. My form tutor because she always looks out for me, she stopped me getting thrown out of college and is just a generally lovely person (even if she is a bit strange )... my psych teacher for being supportive and funny
