Psych essay on minority influence

Hey,

I've been struggling with this essay for over a week now. It was due in the wednesday just gone and I managed to only hand in half a page on the Moscovici experiment. I need to write more for this wednesday and I need to include the Clark experiment on 12 angry men. Idk how many people can be helpful with this, but I can't find anything online that I understand, so you guys are my only hope since my teacher is already annoyed at me about this, so if I ask her she will be mad at me. She's been little help so far anyway since i don't understand when she teaches, and since she doesn't tell me things because she's annoyed I didn't hand it in on time.

So if any of you guys can tell me about the experiment I'd be so greatful. I need to know what it was, the method, strengths and weaknesses etc. and how it proved or helped to prove minority influence...

Like I said, I don't know who will be able to help but if you can, I'd love you for ever and ever.

I can help! I had to write an essay on this last year

I'm not really familiar with the Clark study though since we used a different one but it should be pretty similar. The study I learnt was Nemeth so perhaps you could write about that and just say that this backs up the Clark study which if I'm right in thinking it does.

Basically the minority will have influence over the majority if they are seen as autonomous and consistent. Nemeth showed that when the minority chose his own seat in the experiment (and was therefore perceived as autonomous) he had greater influence over the majority group than if he was seated by the experimenter. If he retained the same opinions over later cases then he was seen as consistent and had an even greater influence.

That's all I can really remember and I think you're on a different exam board to me so not sure how relevant anything else would be.

As for websites - www.psychexchange.co.uk You have to register and then you get access to powerpoints and notes made by other teachers for their classes. My Psych teacher was a bit shit too so I basically taught myself.
