I'm sorry to hear that, it sounds like she doesn't respect you though and doesn't appreciate all the work that you have done. Maybe getting fired from this job could lead you to something better, just stay positive

I wouldn't think it's that bad. However I can understand the mother not wanting to hire a babysitter who wasn't paying attention to their child. Usually when I babysit I give my full attention to the children while they are awake and do homework when they sleep. What I feel is unfair is her saying she'll give you a second chance but then finding a replacement anyway.
Don't worry too much about it, it might be time for you to try something else anyway. x |

It honestly really depends on the mother and her rules. Some don't think that you should really do things like that whilst watching their child. They hired you because they have trust in you. You're there because you have a job to do. Some people probably feel that you can do these things on your own time. Other parents really don't care, as long as their kid is safe, fed, played with, etc. But with a job like this, standards vary.
It would have been better if this was just a warning. Firing you right off the bat is just ridiculous. Take this as a lesson though. For your next babysitting job, ask what you're allowed to do and what you're not allowed to do. Make sure you know, that way you don't run into this problem again. I got fired from a job for wearing the wrong colored shirt. Personally, I didn't think it was a huge deal. But I wasn't the boss. Sometimes we have to go with what we don't think is very fair. It's just the way life is. And all you can do if learn from it. Take care<3 ![]() I was looking for a breath of life For a little touch of heavenly light But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh |
