Looking to move out - June 22nd 2012, 11:18 AM

Hi,
I am looking to move out, as I cannot really live at home and I am not sure really how to go about it. I have a job and some money. I have looked at the council, but the likelihood of it ever happening is very slim. As I am hoping to be at uni in september I have started looking at student accomodation but dont really know where to look... any help?

Hey Janie, have you already been accepted to uni? / Do you know which one you're going to? Until you know where you're going for sure, it sounds like you'll just be doing research and compiling options. Then, once you have a better grasp on where you're going, you'll start solidifying your move. Do you have a top 3 or so list of unis you'd like to attend? I recommend seeking out either A) any current students you know that attend the schools to see what they did when they were entering/where they live now/if they know of any good agencies (or whatever) that you could rent from.. or B) the potential student committee / office of student recruitment. If they're trying to get you to come to their school, they're going to know where most of the students live or try to establish residence.

Of course, I'm just going on what I know of going to college in America, so it may be a bit different. You could always stay on campus, right? Or in the uni-provided student housing? Is that how it works over there? At any rate, I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks, yeh I have been given a conditional offer so I just need to get the grades. It is very unlikely I will get a place in the uni accommodation as i live so close. I talked to a few people and they suggested I waited to see the outcome of some of things occurring at home and that about 2 weeks sooo ...
Thanks for your hellp
