Australia!!! -
March 6th 2010, 04:42 PM
So I'm going out in July/August to look around a few univerisities ... will be on the east coast. Mainly in Brisbane/Gold Coast but will venture down to Gloucester and maybe Sydney to meet some family I've never met
![]() I'm planning to move there next Jan/Feb for uni. I'm sort of set on Queensland, but might change this summer. Any advice for going to uni there? Or things to see in the summer while I'm there? Preferably not too expensive, I'm vaguely broke after booking flights. Or cheap places to stay? I have someone to stay with but in case that messes up ... Well if you come down To Sydney, you should go to Bondi Beach, China Town, The Rocks, and go shopping at the Queen Victoria Building. Oh and the zoo and you have to see the opera house and the Harbour Bridge.
Yeah, sorry I only mainly know about Sydney cause I live near there. But for Queensland you could go check out the theme parks? I've never been to them but apparently they are good.

I agree with what Megan said. I don't remember much about Australia, I'm that sad, but for Queensland, you should defo check out the theme parks. They are epic. Just epic. And I'm totally not saying that because I used to live near-ish there.

I was looking into universities out there and found that for a non-australian citizen they are quite expensive. Like 20k a year/term? This is just what I found in my research but I may be wrong.
Also, if you get along with your families out there, maybe they could put you up whilst you get settled? If your going Brisbane and Gold coast, then deffinitly go snorkling out on the reef! Sydney is an amazing place, the nightlife is fab, there's a great aquarium there too :] We found that hiring car even if just for a weekend, is a great way to just get out and see the sights - just looking wtithout paying to go in anywehere. I would give your long lost family a ring and see if they can send you over some details of various places :] I'm still alive.
Must have been a miracle It's been one hell of a ride Destination still unkown It's a fact of life: If you make one wrong move with a gun to your head You better walk the line or you'll be left for dead. I'm a runaway train on a broken track I'm the ticker on the bomb that you can't turn back Thats right. I got away with it all and I'm still alive. Let the end of the world come tumbling down. I'll be the last man standing on the ground As long as hot blood runs through my veins I'm still alive. |

Thanks guys
will try out the theme parks and try and get a bit of snorkelling in!! And if I venture down to Sydney suggestions will be tried there too!!I'm OK with fees. I have New Zealand citizenship, so I get reduced fees. I think it works out to just less than I would pay here. I'll need a loan / something to live on, but I have some savings my nan set up for me, that my parents are going to give me for living costs/fees. You can't move mountains by whispering at them.
