really scared -
May 20th 2010, 02:51 PM
So i'm travelling to Thailand in 3 weeks.
And i'm totally petrified and keep getting mixed opinions. My plan was to spend 4 nights in Bangkok- but every day was a day trip to surrounding areas not inside bangkok. Then train to Chaing Mai for 10 days Then return to Bangkok, and join with a tour for a month. Now, as anyone who listens to the news knows this doesnt sound so great anymore. Bangkok is in flames, and Chiang Mai is said to be dangerous. The month tour is still running and the team out there at the moment said there's no problems. But the fco recommend against travel to bangkok and chaing mai. Yet people out there say it's ok as long as you stay away from protesters. I really dont want to cancel... i stand to loose about 2500 which is all my savings... But obviously, if i think it's too dangerous then i'd rather loose money than life. Any suggestions? The reds have surrendered but it doesnt seem to be dying down. Sorry this is so long, but i'm travelling alone and absolutely petrified Just one smile makes you think i'm happy... why won't just one tear make you realise i'm not? x
