I have never moved. I have always lived in the same old boring small town
. I love it here though. I did have a friend that moved 3 hours away and 2 summers ago I visited her there. It is SO different! Here were the differences:Here -Lots of different kinds of people like African american and Chinese. -Different sexual orientations are really accepted here. -All the kids here dress in the scene style .There -Everyone was white -they don't even have GSA in school's let alone it being accepted. -Scene kids get made fun of and everyone dresses with like thoes skirts that u pull up to your boobs and have ur shirt tucked in o.0. and guys actually wore their pants pulled up!!! it was craziness! It's good to be different! You can open people up to new ideas and start new trends! There's always at least some cool people who will like you for who you are. You don't have to change if you like how you are.

Yeah, this happened to me when I was really young. All I can say is this helpless feeling you might feel right now is definitely temporary as you will get used to things around you quite quickly (you can take my word for it!) It's natural for you to be feeling a bit weird right now (if you'd have fit right in from the get go, then THAT would be abnormal), so just take your time and make yourself at home! Trust me, just give yourself time and soon you will be chilling with new friends, and acting as if nothing ever happened in the first place
.

My friend moved away almost 3 years ago and she is only just starting to make some friends there. Until recently she was hanging out in the guidance office at lunch time with a guidance councelor and one other shy student. She just felt too different and didn't want to make friends. she told me on the phone a while ago that she is much happier now that she has friends and that the reason she had such a bad time the first couple years was because she was determined to hate it there.

You are definitely not alone.
I lived in a town about 15 minutes from where I live now. That is where my school is, and where all of my friends are. When my mother got remarried, she moved us out here into my stepdads house and I hate it here. ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

You are not alone in this! I have moved countless times and it is a very hard thing to do especially the older you get. The last time I moved it took me 2 years to get used to it. For some people it just takes more time

I myself moved to a new city this year. And even I didn't like it. But after sometime, I figured out that there's practically nothing I can do about it, so I should just try to make friends and adjust. And frankly, after this I didn't feel all that bad.
