Sherlock Holmes - January 3rd 2010, 11:29 PM

I found this movie very enjoyable to watch.

Robert Downey Jr. was a good choice for Holmes with a witty and disturbed personality. I liked how they focused so much on Holmes as the main character so the audience could get attached to him as a character. Great plot. Other characters were great. Background setting was well thought out.

Has anyone else seen it?

Yes! I love it!

I went to see it on Boxing Day when it came out and then went again Wednesday
It was a bit slow starting but once Lord Blackwood's 'risen from the dead' it starts picking up.

Woooo! I personally like Downey Jr. better as Holmes than he is as Iron Man. I think Blackwood was a great villain for the movie as well as the support cast of villains that were involved xD. The plot of magic was thought out well.

I loved the beginning where they show how Holmes thinks as he attacks the guy in the tower.

Certainly very entertaining! One of Guy Ritchie's best, although if you look at the writes for the film one worked on Harry Potter, and another on Invictus, so he had some great help! He's always been a good director but with this team he's done exceptionally well!
Robert Downey Jr. did a great job in this, he and Jude Law have a good on-screen chemistry as well.
I would certainly recommend!

Re: Sherlock Holmes - January 5th 2010, 05:13 AM

I saw it last week and I really enjoyed it.

It captured my attention throughout the entire movie.

The witty humor and plot was creative.

I was very impressed with it since I did not expect a detective movie to be this good. I also loved how Holmes' personality was expressed.

It's very clever, the kind of mystery where you can just barely taste the answers the whole way through but never quite reach them on your own. I love that in a movie.

I want to see this now after reading all your comments. It sounds really good. Robert Downey Jr. Is just a good actor in general, ad sounds like it's got a lot else going for it =]
