Scary horror movies - January 14th 2010, 06:59 AM

I absolutely love horror movies but I haven't seen one that actually SCARES me in years. So please tell me what movies scare you?

I know this one may sound a bit cheesy now but my all time favrioute is Evil dead. It may not be scary now but it was when it got released.

Paranormal Activity was scary (to me, and I'm get scared so easily lmao)

Halloween / Friday The 13th are also scary.
Seems like older the movie, the scarier it is. xD

I rarely find scary movies that scare me too, because I looove them... However today, I watched Drag Me To Hell, and it scared the crap outta me. I can't remember a time where I've jumped so much while watching a movie.

I know what you mean, most 'scary' movies just make me laugh. The only film that I've seen recently that not only scared me, but really disturbed me, is Martyrs. It's a French horror film that I promise will really get under your skin.

Re: Scary horror movies - January 15th 2010, 01:01 AM

I've seen so many horror movies I never even get scared anymore. The Exorcist didn't even spook me and it's supposed to be one of the most highly rated scariest horror films.
I recently watched Paranormal Activity and that one was pretty spooky. I'm not sure if it is really based on a true story or not, but to think there are actually ghosts out there and people are haunted by them is a scary thought and makes you nervous to go to bed at night, especially since in the movie, the paranormal accurences were always late at night.

Paranormal was really good, especially because my dad decided to bang on my door after I finished watching it... It was really scary!

I don't like movies with gore. I'm all thriller, like Silence Of The Lambs and Dawn of The Dead. I don't mind blood, but when things happen to the human body, like twisting and such... Nope.

I watched Drag Me to Hell today I think I had a couple of heart attacks. It definitly shaved off 10 years of my life lol. That bloody possessed hanky looking thing!

Who do you carry that torch for, my young man?
Do you believe in anything?
Or do you carry it around just to burn things down?

Meet me tonight on the turnpike my darling,
where we believe in everything.
If we sweat all these debts then we're sure to drown,
so let's strap ourselves up to this engine now
with our God who we found laying under the back seat.

The ending of that movie left me so distraught. I got extremely depressed, but it only lasted a bit.

The Evil Dead is messed up and I cringed pretty often. Other than that, Amityville Horror. I just remember that making me scream.

The Blair Witch Project and The Grudge are both really scary. I just watched Blair Witch last night and I can't get the final scene out of my head. I'm not really scared by gore and stuff. Supernatural/psychological horror movies scare the crap out of me though.

And I always watch scary movies late at night in the dark, so that helps add to the atmosphere too =D
