Matilda (1996) - April 21st 2010, 11:06 AM

http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3465871641/

I watched it all the time as a child. I watched it so much that the VHS wouldn't no longer play in colour, the picture went completely black and while lmao. I downloaded it last night and converted it for my ipod I forgot how awesome it is.

I love it! I I started reading Moby Dick when I was 7 because of Matilda! I wanted to move stuff with my mind

I loved "Matilda" when I was younger! And when it comes on a station on TV I watch it. I always wanted to be just like Matilda and move stuff with my mind.

Oh, brings back memories. I used to act out scenes from it. I think I read the book once too. But, yeah, I loved it. Still watch it sometimes.
It's also the reason I really want to read Moby Dick (but I'm having such trouble getting through it ).

Awesome film!
The song when she's making pancakes is just amazing.

Haha, same. Me and my sister used to do the "Amanda Thripp" scene

Amanda Thripp: What's what, Ms. Trunchbull?

Amanda Thripp: You mean my pigtails?
Agatha Trunchbull: Are you a pig, Amanda?
Amanda Thripp: *No*, Ms. Trunchbull.
Agatha Trunchbull: Do I allow pigs in my school?
Amanda Thripp: My mommy thinks they're sweet.
Agatha Trunchbull: [bends down] Your mommy... is a TWIT!

Re: Matilda (1996) - April 26th 2010, 03:41 AM

Oh man!! This movie was great. My parents loved to watch it together with us. They had stuff to laugh at and so did we (me and my sis). Brings back so many memories. The nostalgia feels awesome.

In retrospect, her parents gave up Matilda with great ease, didn't they? She just needed some papers signed?? lol just sayin'.

Also, I loved "I'm big, you're little, I'm right, you're wrong" speech from her dad juxtaposed with him being oh-so-wrong. The movie was so great for letting me broaden my intellectual horizons. I never let my parents have their way easily. I became the annoying little girl to ask "Why?" each time my parents told me things.

Haha, I loved that film! I always wanted to live in a house like Miss Honeys. I thought it looked really cute how it was tucked away in flowers and trees etc.

I had a Roald Dahl cook book when I was younger and it had all recipes for the things mentioned in the book and there was the big cake! It had to be one of the best things that I made, the cake tin it said to use would have been HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE....needless to say we had to cut ours down

Oh wow, I am totally in love with this film. It was a very feel-good film (whoever said that up there ^) I was in love with the music as well, not just Little Bitty Pretty One (the song where she's dancing on the table - top 25 on my iPod like ) but the actual orchestral music too.

Whatever happened to Mara Wilson anyway?? She was the cutest child ever ... in fact stratch that, someone commented on a YouTube video clip saying that she retired from acting because she didn't want to be a celebrity ... n'awww
