-raises hand- I can't wait <333 I can't help but wonder at what point they will end part one I suppose the middle of the book is where

Spoiler:
Ron leaves Harry and Hermione

so that could be where. I hope they'll make

Spoiler:
Dobbie's funeral better than they made Dumbledore's in Half-Blood Prince ¬____¬

I'm seeing it on Thursday yay. The seventh book was my favorite so it will be interesting to see what they make of it, so far I think it looks really good and definitely entertaining.

Turning Harry Potter into a franchise has killed it (like most good things). I haven't even seen the fifth and sixth, so I'm not seeing the seventh.

I am seeing it for the midnight showing with two friends. (Thursday at midnight)
And then I'm seeing it another time with my other friend. Then again with my parents, and then possibly again with my sister and her boyfriend. That's a lot of Harry Potter. Haha.

Re: Harry Potter! - November 20th 2010, 04:16 AM

I've heard good reviews for it so far; that's a first. The last two Harry Potter movies have not met my expectations. The seventh book was my favorite as well. I had to have the books the day the came out, but with the movies I'm a little bit more 'less crazy.' I like to wait until the lines die down, so I don't get disappointed when I get to the theater and they're all sold out. (It's happened before.) I'll hopefully see it before I go back to campus on the twenty-seventh. :-)

That's why you pre-order the tickets. Tho when I got there, it was almost an hour and a half before the movie started, and we had to sit in those front grouping of seats. It was fine. Yes, the movie was very good. Better than the last two.

Well, you can't pre-order online for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yet (at least in my area), and I hate to pre-order unless I know for sure I'll be going. The way my life works, we plan on going, then we don't. Sure, we could drive out to the theater and buy them hours in advance, but that's gas money.

i definately got bored during the film.
better than the other films, but thats because its a better book than the rest too. the actors and actresses simply cant act at all.. and they dont say much either when you expect them to
Dobby is the best bit of the film. Few funny bits but thats it.
Being in 2 parts as well..

Ah, Idk I think they are quite good actors. The only time I ever cringed from a part of the film was on Prisoner of Azkaban where Harry screamed out "HE WAS THEIR FRIEND!"

I saw it yesterday & thought it was good.
I'm just happy was better than the last film they made, they really messed that up

I don't think you can't really compare it to the other films as it's very different in location and everything. But it kept to the book well and didn't miss out much, which I thought it would have. The acting has improved since the past films. There was one bit which made me cringe no end and I could have left there and then (I won't say in case of spoilers) but overall, I thought it was a good attempt xD The books will always be the best, though. ♥

I totally disagree that it was long or boring. Considering how much of the book is spent travelling and camping, a lot of those scenes were shortened, quite rightly. I loved the movie, thought it was brilliant, paced really well, the right dose of funny and sad...can't wait for Part 2. I'll be so upset when it's all over.

I'll think this comment is for me since I'm the only one that has said the movie was long and SLOW not boring. It starts looking interesting but it ends up spending the whole movie in the tent doing nothing all action and humor stopped. The only thing that saved the movie in my opinion was the humor in it, I guess I was just expecting a little more.

Saw it and again disappoint me, i think it was as worse as the 6th and 5th movies, i hate how David yates changes everything how he rushes to finish the movies. HE NEEDS TO READ THE BOOKS!!The lack of emotions drives me nuts.

I saw it last night, and...
I was impressed.
This coming from someone who usually dislikes movie adaptations of books, but I thought it was really well done. Different to the book, but it worked.
Despite what others are saying, I like the actors, I thought it was pretty close to the books, and I think it had just the right amount of everything.
So, yeah, I'm happy.

And yes, I can see your reasoning there.
I am in the US, and we can't pre-order online in my city, I checked. :|

I think I'll see it next week when the kids are in school, or maybe Thanksgiving. Either way, it'll be here until after Christmas. So if I don't see it now, there's plenty of time. I'm never in a big rush to go to the movies. I own the book and can re-read it as many times as I want. =]

EDIT: So, I guess we can start pre-ordering starting Monday. I guess it was just for the first couple days online purchasing wasn't allowed. :/ Also, it costs an extra dollar to order online. Forget that.

Re: Harry Potter! - November 21st 2010, 07:30 PM

I personally loved it.
The first time I saw it, I had a problem with the pacing. Everything just seemed so rushed. But then I saw it a second time, and it didn't seem that way anymore. Definitely my favorite Potter film to date.
I think it's completely idiotic to think that Yates can fit everything into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Sorry it can't be done no matter how much people want it to be. He put the important things in it and that's what matters, and the things he changed were rightfully changed.

The only thing I had a huge problem with was the Malfoy Manor scene:
:: SPOILERS AHEAD ::
Sorry I don't know how to do that spoiler tab thing.

Spoiler:
first off the torture seemed so toned down. I LOVED Emma Watson though. Her crying and screams felt so real, she was quite good, but I wish they would've shown Bellatrix using the Cruciatus Curse although it was implied. Carving "Mudblood" into her skin was a nice touch though. I hated how Ron and Harry weren't as hysterical as they should've been. And I hated how Dobby added unecessary moments of humor. Sorry, but Hermione's being freaking tortured here, it's not supposed to be funny or light hearted. I admit, the two times I saw it I laughed, but as I thought about it more and more, it was really stupid.

That's the only thing I had a BIG problem with. The good certainly outweighs the bad for me though. There were some things
Spoiler:
I really, really loved like the Three Brothers animation (Oh gawd, that was simply fantastic), Godric's Hollow and Bathilda Bagshot (So freaking creepy!), Ron leaving and the subtle hints that he was going to leave (Great acting from the trio), the Ministry scene, how they played the radio in the background while showing the trio going from place to place, Harry and Hermione dance scene, Dobby's death, and the destroying the locket scene was fantastic also.

Some things I wish they would've added but it didn't ruin the movie for me:
Spoiler:
-Regulus' backstory
Spoiler:

-the graffiti on the memorial sign at Godric's Hollow

And for those complaining about it being boring and the camping scenes boring. Um, did you read the book? And if you have, what did you expect exactly? I hate how people get ansy when there isn't explosions every five seconds and Transformers type action in it.

When you're selfless you're so hard not to adore; when you're selfish, I just love you even more.

Haha thanks for that!
All you have to do is [spoiler ][ / spoiler ], then (without the spaces)?
Well that's easy enough

When you're selfless you're so hard not to adore; when you're selfish, I just love you even more.

I'm actually going to go see it in a few weeks with my coworkers, for our christmas party, I think.

And I will take you in my arms, and hold you right where you belong.
Til the day my life is through, this I promise you.121109
