Anime, anyone? - February 16th 2011, 12:53 AM

So, is anyone here into anime? If so, what are your favorites?

I haven't gotten the chance to see that many, but my personal favorites are Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist. (I've yet to see the second FMA series...is it good?)

Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop. And Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Oh, and I probably shouldn't admit even to having watched this, but B Gata H Kei is the funniest anime ever.

I don't generally go for anime, it's so slow paced and edited compared to the manga counterpart (for the most part)
But I quite liked azumanga diaoh! (I think that's spelt correctly) which is quite funny, if you go for subbed instead of dubbed, dubbing ruins anime D=

Not necessarily. Even its creator agrees that the Cowboy Bebop dub is better than the sub.

Sorry, I'll correct myself x.x
Dubbing ruins most animes D= especially the ones they seem to aim towards children.

Tenchi Muyo
Card Captors
Dragon Ball Z
Pokemon

I haven't seen many other animes but I like these ones. I prefer dubbing mostly since when most of the time I'm too tired to read subtitles and since all of the animes I've watched were on TV I've gotten used to the English voices now. I don't mind watching new animes that are subbed though

Also, if we're including animes films

Spirited Away
Kiki's Delivery Service
Howl's Moving Castle
Metropolis

I've seen the subbed and dubbed versions of these and I don't mind watching it either way

Mmh. They insist on hiring English-speaking voice actors with really irritating voices. Why, I'm not sure. It'd be so easy to do it better.

I tried to get into it with Bleach and Tsubasa Chronicles. I watched thw first episodes of Bleach and then I stopped. Not enough time to get through all these episodes.

Nana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best ever ^^ Kirarin Idol Revolution's quite funny too, if you have the patience to endure Kusumi Koharu's voice

I can't really say I watch a lot of anime TV shows, but I have quite a few anime movies that are in my favorites list. Akira, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Cowboy Bebop the Movie, Ninja Scroll, Howl's Moving Castle, etc.....notice I'm a big Hayao Miyazaki fan

The only anime movies I've ever seen are Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle. However, both of them were really good. (From what I understand Hayao Miyazaki's work is generally great, so it makes sense that both of those movies are good.)
