Saddest/most shocking TV deaths [Major Spoilers] - May 21st 2011, 03:43 AM

This thread has been labeled as containing spoilers. The contents of this thread might therefore describe important elements of a storyline that could ruin it for you. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

What are they in your opinion?

Here are mine:

Pretty much every freaking lost character.
A few choice ones (from Lost):

Shannon
Charlie
Daniel Faraday
Juliet
Alex (Not the saddest but definitely the most shocking)

Other shows:

Mitchell from Being Human (UK)- OMG I died when this happened.
Rita from Dexter
Chris from Skins UK
Leo from Being Erica (I mean in the episode where she goes back in time and tries to save him. Expected but really sad).

I'm sure I'll think of more.

To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

Wow! He died??

I gave up on that show in like the third season... It was such an amazing show but it got too confusing and kinda weird. How did he die?

Oh man.
Dr Mark Green from ER.
Billy from Ally McBeal [I don't actually watch that show, and I cried buckets]
And Ellen and Jo from supernatural. As well as a bunch of other deaths in that show that shocked me... but didn't matter

Viserys in Game of Thrones was pretty shocking cuz of how much of a main character he seemed to be and how brutal it was.

Just started watching LOST from the beginning on Netflix.. I died inside when Charlie was found and Jack was hitting him. Then I cried when Kate said he's gone... Ugh... Lol it was depressing. Ruined my life.. For a day or so.

Yeah, Viserys should have been more specific about his "golden crown." gotta admit, that was quite an original way to kill someone.

The death at the end of Dexter season 4 was pretty shocking. Did not see that one coming.

Ana Lucia from LOST

I hated her at first, but then I started to love her character..

Of course Libby was shocking, but kind of an afterthought sort of shock... Gah, why Ana Lucia??

I never liked Ana Lucia. I was sad Libby died but only for Hurly. I think they might be the most shocking deaths Lost ever had though, now that I think about it. Considering how it went down and who shot them.

Though Alex and Daniel Faraday's deaths were pretty unexpected/shocking too.

That was a sad one. Another death from that show that I immediately thought of was Chloe and Cal's death.

Freddie's death on Skins was shocking, but it wasn't really sad.

Like worth watching?

I agree with whoever posted the one about J.T from Degrassi. That was pretty sudden!

Well, it's my favourite show, so I love it... but I have to say the later seasons are kind of... not that good. They got all messed up with the flashforwards and stuff I think. But season 1 and 2 are solid. I think if you were to watch it on TV it would be more enjoyable from season 3 onwards because it wouldn't be as slow and it would be less confusing. You should definitely give it a go.

I'm going to add Denny from Grey's Anatomy even though it wasn't shocking.

I'm going to add this to help get the full affect xd

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

Wow I totally forgot about that one. I've always kind of watched Grey's on and off but man, that one was tragic!

I think it's all about the set up to these instances. Characters on Grey's that I've cared more about than Denny have died but I definitely think Denny's death was the saddest they ever had.

I kinda feel the same way about Lost. So many great characters died but I always though Alex's death, even though I had never really liked her, was the saddest just because of how it went down.

Honestly I would like to say Adrian's baby on the Secret Life of the American Teenager but the previews posted on facebook the day before really gave it away which sucked.

Most shocking? Stringer off the Wire.
Saddest? Beckett from Castle.

Two sad ones:
The Face of Boe from Doctor Who.
Ianto Jones from Torchwood.
