Does anyone know where I can get free music at? Since they got rid of Limewire, I've been listening to old songs and I am really wanting to get a few new ones.

We aren't allowed to give you information on how to do any sort of illegal activity, and downloading free music is mostly illegal.

You could sign up for a site like napster, or you could just use pandora/grooveshark/youtube.

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

We can't tell you how to get free music unless of course it's legal and well, I don't know of any legal ways to get free music.

I can recommend Spotify to you though. I've been using it for months and it's recently changed so you have to pay but it's still pretty amazing and at £10 a month for as much music as you could possibly listen to in a month, I'd say it was so worth it. Plus, they're currently giving you 7/30 day trials of premium (the thing you pay £10 a month for) so it's worth giving it ago

Hey. We aren't allowed to give you any links to programes such as limewire as it's illegal. However, Spotify allows you to listen to millions of songs for free online. The free version only allows you to listen to a song five times though. There's also youtube and Last.fm which are legal

Does Last.fm still allow you to listen to stuff? I know there are some free downloads but they're mostly awful (which is why they're free, I'm guessing).

Spotify really messed up with their recent introduction of the 10 hour cap and 5 plays per month. I wouldn't be surprised if illegal downloading increased in the last month.

You can still listen to the radios Like I can listen to music similar to Paramore, I do it quite a bit to find new music.

I agree :/ Spotify shot themselves in the foot with that.

Legally, you can access almost any song through you-tube. Using firefox, and a plug-in called DownloadHelper, you can also download almost everything there is on youtube. Then using certain video/audio editing software, I wouldn't doubt it's possible to separate the .mp3 audio track from the video, and delete the video to save space.

Illegally, just type peer-to-peer software into google, or p2p, as it's commonly abbreviated. I'm not allowed to provide you with links to those pages but I can give you a link to google, which is perfectly legal:

http://www.google.co.uk/

If you've got some spare time, read this:

But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead.

Lol reminds me of that episode of Southpark.

To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget

Gotta love South Park. It's usually more truthful and hard-hitting than most news organisations.

Last FM has some free LEGAL downloads that you can download but it's a very limited selection.

We can't tell you how to download illegally I'm afraid but I'm not going to preach to you about buying music because I rarely do.

There are legal downloads of indie artists on www.jamendo.com

It's not your mainstream stuff, but you just might like some of it. Most of this music can also be used for non-commercial multimedia projects and the like as well.

I'd just like to point out my old-fashion free music source.....

I get CD's from my local library. The library system that I'm a part of has a very large collection, and about two-thirds of what I'm looking for is in their system. Sure, I don't always get it right away, but it's free and I can get entire albums at a time, and then rip them onto my iTunes account.

Youtube has a lot of music that's free to listen to.

Satanism is not a white light religion; it is a religion of the flesh, the mundane, the carnal - all of which are ruled by Satan, the personification of the Left Hand Path.

Can I just point out that some libraries do charge. I know that mine charges £1.50 for one album which sucks a lot to be honest.
You're best just downloading the youtube audio tracks
It'll take longer.. but that's the way I do it

This is what sucks about the music industry: we have to fund greedy corporations in order to get a little bit of cash to our favourite artists. Although, some artist will exploit themselves for their companies, so they probably don't require any further funding. Ironically, they're probably the ones having the most content "stolen".
The music industry: sucking up your cash for greedy, reckless, trans-national corporations by signing you artists.

I'll tell you my timeline of Music:

1. Find band
2. Listen to top 3 songs on YouTube
3. If I like, torrent Discog
4. Give it all a really good listen.
If bad, delete. If average, keep. If very good, delete and buy!
