Arrow Black Veil Brides. . ? - May 27th 2011, 04:07 PM

Well my friend is starting to listen to like screamo and hard-core punk and all that (ex: Bring Me Horizon) and she wanted me to listen to Black Veil Brides (we listened to Knifes and Pens) and it's a pretty good song. But I dunno. Hard-Core punk really isn't my thing but I think I'm starting to like this group. hmm. .
Do you listen to Black Veil Brides? If you do, what do you think about them?

Hahaha Sam Carter from Architects literally just Tweeted about them - "I don't like that black veil brides band ...... What do you think there family think of the way they dress? Hahah"

I've read interviews with Andy and listened to their music. All I can say is, they annoy the living hell out of me.

Nah, they're not really my thing, if they would just sing with clean vocals they'd be decent but the screaming is just talentless.

I wouldn't call them hardcore punk though. They're about as far away from Punk as Britney Spears.

They remind me of Bullet for my Valentine (not so much vocals, but guitars at least) and I have to be in the mood for BFMV. I don't listen to screamy music all that often.

Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year.

I love them! xD

I like the lyrics, and Andy (lead singer) just seems really nice :P

I like the message they have, totally positive :P

On the outside I'm smiling,
but inside im crying.
I'm silent, but screaming,
I'm so slowly dying.

The only song I really like by them is "Sweet Blasphemy".

Satanism is not a white light religion; it is a religion of the flesh, the mundane, the carnal - all of which are ruled by Satan, the personification of the Left Hand Path.

"Love those who deserve your love, instead of love wasted on ingrates!"

"If a man smite thee on one cheek, smash him on the other!"

"It's too bad stupidity isn't painful."

This is my first time hearing of this band and I listened to Knives and Pens because the OP mentioned it. For roughly the first minute, it wasn't so bad but then the singer (who looks somewhat like a female) began screaming endlessly. He then began singing regularly for a bit. The lyrics and overall sound makes The Village People seem punk, so I think it's a talentless lousy band. In the video to Knives and Pens, it looks and sounds like a Disney hack-job of what a PG-friendly punk would be.

My ears need a remedy after hearing that, time for good music.

All that music is utter shit in my opinion.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

After about a couple days of listening to their music and wikiing their bands page they are overall not the bad of people.

If you think that screaming went on for what seems like forever, then you should listen to Perfect Weapon ;D
But I have grown to like them! Knives and Pens and Perfect Weapon are my top favorites. If you look past the screaming and the outfits they are actually sending a message. Especially in Knives and Pens, its about stereotyping.

I like them too, I do agree that Andy's vocals are better than his screaming though.

The lyrics can be the best pieces of poetry but with the singer screaming the way he is, it's damn near impossible to understand what he is saying. When I listen to a song, I want to be able to hear what the lyrics are but for this band, I would have to look them up, not something that paints a good picture of them. Since it's a music video, their outfits can help with understanding the song but I found it so chaotic, flipping back and forth with the outfits alongside the screaming. I had so much trouble understanding what was said, I thought the song was about teenagers being sad because one of the guys was walking around mopy, the singer had some black lines on his face and the other band members were also in dark or white.

I dislike their music; if they spent as much time on their songs as they do styling their hair, then who knows, they could have been better. Correct me if i'm wrong; they are also just stuck together by a record company. I think that Andy Sixx wanted a band, so the company recruited some people, so I don't regard them as a 'band' in every sense, if that makes sense?

I didn't really like their first album, I listened to it sometimes but his voice and the screaming... I'm not sure, it's.. different. I'm more into Asking Alexandria, Miss May I, Escape the Fate, and like you've said, BMTH. I do love their lyics, but musically, I'm not all that into them. However, their new album, Set The World On Fire, sounds very promising and much better than their previous stuff. Fallen Angels is... amazing. (: I also LOVE their image, very sexy imo.
