Local Music -
August 31st 2011, 04:48 PM
Lately I've been really obessesed with smaller and local bands. Basically the ones that aren't played on the radio. It just seems like stuff on the radio gets so over played that in the beginning the songs are good but just end up really annoying (and sorry if I offend anyone because their favorite artist might be someone I'm talking about).
One of my favorites is a group called The Pheonix Philosphy, and they're from Minnesota. https://www.facebook.com/?sk=lf#!/thephoenixphilosophy Is anyone else finding that they feel similar about radio music vs. non-radio music? |

I also quite like local bands that no one knows of or not so local bands that no one knows of.
The best band I can find is Not So Lucky, no one hardly knows them but they are great. Check them out

I am a huge fan of local music. Pretty good bands ^^^^
Where I'm from, we have a lot of good bands just starting out. Then Falls Caesar, Absolute Ruin, The Scandals (NJ), Goodnight Bravado are a few of my favorite from my area of Jersey. "Although only breath, words which I command are immortal." Sappho

Colin Hunter. Seen him (and chilled with him) a few times and he's always great live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnPQdec_axY
Culann. A kind of prog-rock group with too many influences in one song to name. Very tight live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QAyl-XrFj4 These are very local. There are countless Scottish bands I could name and share but these guys are from nearby. |

There are a few local bands in my area that are pretty decent. They play a few times every month or so and they are a huge hit with the high school kids around here.

I love coming across bands or artists people haven't heard of.
For example, The Runaway State. I absolutely love him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVMI859ZcSI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Yjx5...el_video_title |

i love local music, iv been to 60+ local concerts. Some of the best bands from around here i am like best friends with all the dudes because i do most of there advertising. JudgeMental is an awesome one thats done a national tour, Poisionwood has also done a national tour, and Half Raptor, then cruxx, then evacuate the city, then fallen empire. those are a few of the many.

I honestly think everyone goes though this feeling at one point in there lives, So I have had it before, But that feeling has passed, I just listen to music that sounds good to me regardless of how popular they are.

I listen to the music that I like but I find that when I'm searching for music to listen to, I'd much rather listen to the things that I don't know versus the ones that I do because they're on the radio. There are a few songs from the radio that I rather do enjoy. Good meets Bad- Lighters, is one of my personal faves right now. |

I went to Headstock music festival today and there was a guy called Sam Garrett on one of the small stages. He was amazing. Not even kidding.
I got a picture with him and he was so lovely. Link: m.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&hl=en-GB&client=mv-google&v=jDa3RkQC-AQ |
