who do you sound like/try to sound like? for me it's Trevor from the black dahlia murder
i've been at it for about 3-4 months now And the question really becomes,
What can we do to survive against a powerful and corrupt beast, that wants nothing more than to subjugate and suppress us? What can we do? |

I've never tried screaming...
1) I'm scared I'll destroy my voice box and throat 2) I've never heard a female screamer  So yeah... Just singing thanks

I used to scream for a band that I was in. Haha. It was definitely an interesting expierence for me. I was the lead singer and screamer when needed.
I stopped about a year and a half ago because I realized how awful it was for my voice. I might be crazy. But have I told you lately that I love you? You're the only reason that I'm not afraid to fly. <3 |

a funny thing is, i've been playing guitar for like a year and a half and am pretty good at it, now i can scream too, it's gonna suck trying to learn how to scream and play at the same time if i want to be in a band and use both of those talents.
or, just form my own band as the singer and also join another band as the guitarist And the question really becomes,

i can scream and i try to sound like me? lol i have been doing it for probably 2 years? and singing for much longer i also play guitar & bass

Multi-tasking is hard. I find it really difficult to pick my guitar and sing.
I'm fine with chords... But picking. No chance :') I either mess up playing or stop singing. But practise makes perfect I suppose. Try humming the tune as you go along. EDIT: IF you find that you can't scream and play, ask yourself what you're better at and go with it. People get hated on for switching bands a lot. No idea why. |

Yeah, I can scream a bit, as well as growl, but I guess we're including that as well.
I've been told I sound a bit like Phil Bozeman, but he has so much clarity I doubt I sound much like him. Topic and written art suggestions and requests now availabe for submission in my blog!

I used to do backup vocals and guitar in my friend's band. Death metal = win. I love growls and low screams. It's so much fun to do too. =D

I learned what screamo is from Pete Wentz (and I've heard that's not really screamo but IDGAF) and that's who I strive to sound like I guess.
