Has there ever been a more consistantly killer band?
From Remission all the way through to The Hunter, they've yet to make a bad album, let alone a bad song. The Hunter is released on Monday but it's been available to stream online for a few days now, has anyone listened to it? It is quite simply flawless, another massive change in direction after the astral wanderings of Crack the Skye - The Hunter is just rock and roll through and through, with none of that complexity which defined its predecessor. Very 70's inspired in places, yet modern, and another phase of Mastodon's continuing development, expect it to make lots of "album of the year" lists. If you haven't listened to them, listen to them. |

Leviathan and Blood Mountain are two of my favourite albums ever, but I wasn't that impressed by Crack the Skye. Haven't checked out the new one yet, but I will do.

I like them but I don't listen to a huge amount of their stuff. Not enough energy for me personally and the vocals are a little underwhelming.
I thought about you for the rest of the day. Catching my head turning to find you again. I hated myself for it. |

the black dahlia murder. liked every single one of their songs
And the question really becomes,
What can we do to survive against a powerful and corrupt beast, that wants nothing more than to subjugate and suppress us? What can we do? |
