I don't think this thread has been made yet, so I thought I'd do that.
 What are your guys' thoughts on her? Personally, I don't like her that much. She's a tad over-hyped and that SNL performance was terrible. She could have been just nervous, but the studio versions of her songs aren't that great either.

A tad overhyped is an understatement. I like Videogames and Born to Die, but they're not that good. She became the hipster version of Adele overnight, since it's so cool to like Lana Del Rey.
Her album's out today, I won't be surprised if it's a major letdown. |

Actually, it's not bad.
A bit melodramatic in places (okay, every song), and it's a bit grand too. There's a fair share of hip hop influence on it as well. I still don't think she lives up to the hype, but to live up to all the chat going on about her, she would've needed to release the next White Album, really. |

I don't understand what's so great about her to be honest. I've heard better.
Her music is weirdly haunting... might grow on me. I'll see. Although the guy in the Born to Die video is pretty hot. |

I don't quite like her either. She is one of those artists I can't take seriously. Reason being, I don't like her studio voice.. so I doubt I'd like her live. And I would prefer to listen to artists live anyways. Then again, there have been TONS of artists I didn't care for at first, that I've grown to love. So maybe this might be the case with her.
