Is it to late? - April 12th 2009, 09:40 PM

Hi all,

I'm always pretty depressed, don't worry, i'm not the type to harm myself or others, but i put a happy smiling face on and get through life, but i don't go out or do anything exciting. I go to work, come home and play videogames (i'm not fat, so no stereotypes please!) and basically, i've decided i need a hobby.

At 19 years old, is it too late to learn guitar? I can play simple tabs which are one note at a time, but i really want to learn it (electric) and play some cool tunes.

How long would it take me before i could play things like this;

I'd probably pay for lessons by the way, don't expect me to learn that alone!!

It's never too late! Research in your local area for good guitar teachers. Some of them may be expensive but look at their qualifications, they should be well worth it. Don't get just some guy in his 20s that only plays electric, is self taught and likes to tap. Get someone that actually knows the history of the instrument, and can play, and is willing to play more than one genre of music.

That piece doesn't look particularly difficult, a few weeks from a good teacher and you should have that nae bother!
