Need a song for a story title - May 19th 2009, 10:15 PM

Okay, so I'm currently working on a short story, and I need a title. I'd like the title to come from a song, and I want the song to fit with the idea of the story.

About the story:
The story is centered around one main character, and is told entirely from her perspective. At the beginning of the story, she announces that she has made a decision that will alter her future. Previously, she was on two very different paths, but it finally came time for her to make a decision which she wanted to go on. She had never had second thoughts, but a visit from someone in her past and later, a look through her old keepsakes, both of which bring back memories, make her wonder if she made the right decision.

So basically, I want a song that's about choices and decisions... specifically, deciding on something and then realizing maybe you didn't decide the way you should've.

Can anyone think of any songs that might fit this idea, even loosely? I would really appreciate your help!

I instantly thought of The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows by Brand Ne.

It's about this guy falling in love with this girl and they get married, but he realises too late that he doesn't actually love her.

I absolutely love this song. I know you're only looking for lyrics, but look the song up on youtube. The opening riff is amazing. It sounds like a conversation between two people.

The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows...
Keep The Blood In Your Head, And Keep Your Feet On The Ground.

Well idk if it really fits, but the first thing that popped in my head was "The Way She Feels" by Between the Trees.

I hope you find exactly what you're looking for

This sounds like a rip-off of Nicolas Sparks novel, The Notebook.

Is it a love story?

I've never read The Notebook, but I've seen the movie a few times.

It's not a love story at all.

How about "She Walked Away" by Barlowgirl.

She couldn't take one more day
Home was more her prison now
Independence called out
She had to get it

A fight was all she needed
To give her reason
She slammed the door with no goodbye
And knew that it was time

Now she's driving too fast
She didn't care to glance behind
And through her tears she laughed
It's time to kiss the past goodbye

I'm finally on my own
Don't try to tell me no
There's so much more for me
Just watch what I will be

She walked away
Couldn't say why she was leaving
She walked away
She left all she had believed in
She walked away

Not a day goes by
For the one she's left behind
They're always asking why
And thoughts of her consume their mind

God please let her know
The love we tried to show
We'd promise anything
If you'd just bring her home

Tell her we love her
Tell her she's wanted
One more thing God
Tell her please come home
Please come home

The choice is yours alone now
Tell me how this story ends

[spoken:]
While the son was still a long way off
His father saw him, and felt compassion for him
and ran and embraced him and kissed him
"Let us celebrate for this child of mine was dead
and he has come back to life,
He was lost and now he is found"
and they began to celebrate
[Luke 15:20 and 24]
