Card making - May 27th 2009, 04:16 PM

This could be in the completely wrong place but feel free to move it.

Does anyone here make cards?

My boyfriends birthday is in 2 weeks and I have been looking for a card but I can't find the perfect one. I am thinking of making one.

I have a theme for his birthday, Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is his favourite film, he borrowed my DVD in Janurary and I never got it back because he is always watching it.
I have got him tickets to the live show, the DVD and of the film and the soundtrack.

I can't find a card to match all of this so I was thinking I could get a picture of the internet and making a card for him.

Anyone have any tips or ideas. What kind of stuff will I need and where can I get it in the UK?

Just drop by any craft shop, or even a stationary shop like wh smiths. You can get allsorts of cool stuff to make cards with! You can get scissors that cut in a wavy/zigzag line, things that cut out different shapes, stickers, stamps, glitter, allsorts!

If it's a rocky horror card, you can really go nuts!!

What I like to do...because i'm really naf at drawing....

...is find a picture on the internet...and trace it onto a piece of paper...then rub it onto a card...so i can draw over it and colour it to my liking and stuff..

But yea.. in craft shops you can buy like packs of pre-made blank cards, and border stickers and things

Also try google for ideas (:

I used to do that in primary school, I forgot about that, thanks.

I have found out that there is a Paperchase and an Abakhan fabrics near my house. I can believe I forgot about Abakhan I used to go there for fabric for school and cross stitch patterns. They have everything needed for card making and it is really cheap. There is also a craft shop near my school who sell card making materials and they will make me a card if I tell them what I want. I will get them to make the card if I fail or start to run out of time.
