Drag Me To Hell - June 3rd 2009, 03:47 PM

Has anyone seen it?

I saw it last night at the drive in. I personally thought it was not worth the money I payed for it.

The acting was terrible, as were the special effects. Of course I jumped and screamed but that's me. I screamed in Monster's Inc. LOL

What were your opinions on it?

I haven't seen it probably because I'm underage but I thought it was meant to be good. The critics were saying it was the best horror films in years or something weren't they?

Isn't it rated PG-13? You should be able to see it.

And yeah its getting extremely good reviews considering the type of movie it is....Still, I'm skeptical.

It's only an 15 and your 17 so I'd assume you'd be able to see it?

I saw it and I thought it was okay but some scenes seemed to be a bit stupid. It made me jump a little but I wouldn't say it was the best horror movie of the year.

I haven't read reviews on it. Kind of odd to hear they are saying its supposed to be good.

It's pretty darn predictable.

Could've swore it was 18. From the little that I read on IMDB it just seems like your average horror film so I don't know why the critics are jumping out of their seats about it for.

I want to see this although I don't have high hopes for it at all. Modern horror movies are terrible. The actors...well, they can hardly be called actors. The directors need a slap. They pretty much depend on blood and gutts to make the movie a hit. It's the same thing through and through.

Hot girl with big boobs - hot guy that's dating her with their friends. OH LOOK SCARY PLACE, stupidly wonder in. Get killed one by one, saving the hot girl for last. Yawn. I'm expecting it to be along those lines. PLEASE someone say i'm wrong before I lose faith in humanity forever.

Re: Drag Me To Hell - June 4th 2009, 05:30 AM

This was the best horror movie in years. It was written and directed by Sam Raimi (of Evil Dead fame), and I thought it was an awesome return to horror for him.

I can definitely see why a generation raised on the Saw and Final Destinaition movies wouldn't like it, but for people who like good old fashioned horror movies....you definitely should see this.

I gotta say, There's a huuuuge difference between Saw/Final Destination/Gore flicks and good horror. When you watch Saw and movies of the sort, you're looking for shock. People shouldn't expect to be scared. I remember when I saw the Ring when I was like, 10, and I didn't want to walk around my house in the dark...THAT'S what a horror movie should do haha. Now I watch gore flicks unphased...

I enjoyed the movie, it was just a let down...curses/demonology usually interest me.

Funny, I was going to use The Ring as my example of the kind of horror movies that most teenagers are familiar with now. Drag Me to Hell is definitely not that kind of movie. It's definitely an (intentionally) cheesy, horror-comedy movie straight out of the 1980s.
