The Final Destination. - August 23rd 2009, 12:03 PM

There is a thread on this but it's closed so I thought I'd make a new one.

I think it looks pretty good despite some of the unrealistic deaths which I guess is fair enough cause it's a movie after all. It's meant to be coming out in 3D so here is a 3Dish trailer for it, that I thought was pretty cool. What does everyone else think of the movie?

http://www.break.com/final-destinati...stination.html

I just wanna add that during the trailer, blood splatters the screen in case anyone is triggered by that.

Woah. I love how that trailer plays the full page rather than the standard video, that was cool. I'll probably watch it because I've seen the rest, but I still think that the first was the best.

I really want to see it but I hate 3D films. Grr all films are going to be in 3D soon and I'll never be able to go to the cinema again.

I know what you mean. I hate 3D things and a film like this isn't something I'd want to see in 3D but hopefully they'll still have a few playing normally for us non-3D lovers.

I'm excited to see this movie. As lame and unrealistic as some of the deaths are, I still love the series.

I can't watch 3D movies ... half blind, the effects don't work etc.
Anyway, I enjoyed the first movie. And mostly enjoyed the second one. But by the thirs I was kind of bored of the smae plot. Now the fourth? Meh ... I don't know, for me the repeated plot just doesn't work fourth time around.

Re: The Final Destination. - August 26th 2009, 03:10 PM

I watched the first movie...and then vowed to never watch another movie in the series ever again.

Okay, fine, the plot was at least somewhat intriguing the first time around, if poorly executed. But now we're on the fourth movie with basically the exact same plot?

It just reminds me of the Stephen King joke from Family Guy

Stephen King: Now for my 300th novel, a couple... is attacked... by a giant lamp monster.

Yeah, the original was better because the others are just repeats that have the same plot, different characters. Although I like how in the second one, some of the first deaths were linked into it. But I still want to see it anyway because it does look pretty good.

I hope it isn't IMAX.

I kind of want to see this, but I think it'd be terrifying in 3D. I've never been to a 3D movie and I'd probably be hopping in my seat like a frightened bunny.

These movies were fun. They're pretty bad, but they're highly entertaining with all those deaths and stuff.

With that said, I don't think I care enough to spend 10+ dollars to go see it. I'll see it on TV sometime later.

I really didn't think it was that good...
Compared to the ones that came before it I thought it was going to be better than it was. Although I've seen worse movies.

The third one has definitely got to be my favourite. I love the way the deaths are almost predicted through the photographs, I think it gives it that extra edge and grips you that bit more.

I'm definitely going to be seeing the new one.

Re: The Final Destination. - September 2nd 2009, 03:08 AM

I like the idea of this type of movie, however, there are so many re-makes that it gets over-played to oblivion. The characters are always different but the idea is the same and sadly the plot is always along the same basic lines with a few different tweaks here and there. However, I think that the 3-D effects may make it more entertaining and that would be the only reason why I'd bother to go and see it. Although I do think I'd get a bit bored with the excessively repeatitive plot.

Yeah, the first film of the series scared the hell out of me in it's simpicity and the plot in general. After a while it's just used over and over again to the point where it's lost it's ingenuity and it's become just an easy way make money.

Just to say that, this film = LOLOLOL
Do not pay the price. It was creepy once, but despite that was the funniest film I've ever seen. It was a horror? Whoaaa. Apparently the series has gone downhill, and basically it's a load of poo. :P

Don't worry Hannah, I'm the same.

So if you've already seen it. Is it worth going to see? I might go and see it tonight.
