It took me ages to realize that Superchick was Christian rock, but I like a lot of her songs

I probably know most than other people would. I don't listen it as much nowadays because I'm finding that It's getting repetitive.

Does Christian metal count? lol.
Sometimes I do, but it's more for the music itself rather than the fact that it's Christian. Only ones that really come to mind are August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, and Brian Head Welch. Re: Christian Music -

Some if it's okay, if I'm in the mood for it. I'd probably only listen to the rock though.
The rap sucks, but that's to be expected since I hate all rap. ![]() The only Christian music that I listen to is music that isn't like obviously Christian. Like, if it doesn't come right out and talk about how awesome God is, then I might listen to it. But, other than that, I can listen to hymns to hear how great and powerful God is, it doesn't seem right to hear it in a rock song. ------ Though I walk through the valley of the shadow ofAmanda Panda death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Re: Christian Music -
August 30th 2009, 03:11 AM
Honestly, most of the "Christian" music that people listen to is really just "good" music/music with a hidden meaning of God that a only a believer would unveil. So Christian music contains actually bands like Tree 63, Hillsong United, Jeremy Camp. Bands like As I Lay Dying, Relient K, Underoath are just "Christian coated" music.
So when the pastors at church tell me to just listen to Christian music, It truly does show the narrow-mindedness that the church does a lot of the time possess. But not to worry, I kept a missle in my back pocket, lol. Geek? Nerd? More like intellectual badass. ![]() "You ran through Africa, and Asia, and Indonesia.. And now I've found you, and I love you. Re: Christian Music -

I agree with you to an extent. I just mentioned AILD because somewhere I had heard that they don't play to be a Christian band, but put in some religious influences so I just threw them out there.

Switchfoot... <3
But whoever said Devil Wears Prada... Kudos... I'm seeing them next month But Relient K, The Fray, Underoath... I love all these bands. Like a lot of people have already said, I listen to them because I really appreciate how awesome their music is, I don't listen to them because they're a christian band. Anyhow, I listen to a lot of stuff that is both worship and also artists with a faith behind their music. A lot of it is stuff like UO or TDWP that is alternative/sometimes metalcore, but there's also artists such as Relient K and Anberlin, too. |

I don’t listen to a lot of Christian music (actually more of it has a decidedly non-christian tone
) I do listen to some of the ‘christian coated’ bands though. The more metal ones. And members of Slayer were supposed to be Christian, so does that make slayer Christian metal?

I think there is a huge huge difference from Christians that play music (very good music too) and Christian rock. I really like Nick Cave, As I Lay Dying, etc, but I don't like the boring-arena rock worship songs.

Switchfoot rocks! x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000!!
Switchfoot is the kind of band I was talking about in my previous post. They throw little references towards God in their songs, but it's not extremely obvious that that's what they are singing about, and they also have other songs that they sing that don't sound like they involve God at all. The perfect kind of 'Christian' band. Another one I like that's Christian is Audio Adrenaline, I think they rock too.
