Question German music - September 13th 2009, 02:27 AM

I'm taking German classes in school and am trying to switch my primarily English music to German to hopefully help with my fail-accent. I have Rammstein but I'm boring of them. I also have Annett Louisan and Rosenstolz, but I have to be in a mellow mood to listen to them.

Does anybody know of something that's like Disturbed or Avenged Sevenfold, but in German? Or just German music in general, I'm open to any style.

Re: German music - September 13th 2009, 02:37 AM

Bushido!!

I have no idea what they are saying but my friend tuned me into their music and I liked it. Their one song, "Electro Ghetto"...you can check it out on Youtube actually...I listen to it all the time. I really like it. Not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but if you check it out you might like it? Or maybe the Youtube comments will direct you to something better?

p.s. I actually thought 'fail-accent' was a thing and was about to google it to further my understanding...oops. lol

Die Toten Hosen are a German punk band. Their song Hier Kommt Alex is pretty cool

Re: German music - September 14th 2009, 12:26 AM

For A Level German classes we listened to German songs sometimes haha.
But they were mainly comedy ones about weird things!!
Like "was in der Zeitung steht" not really music you'd keep wanting to listen to! Songs like this just helped improve our German on different topics like the media etc.

Re: German music - September 14th 2009, 01:03 AM

As the beginning of every class my teacher plays popular German music, We're also learning Annett Louisan's song a bit, which is why I've been wanting to download a lot of different German music.

I really do like Bushido. I've been looking for that style in English even, so finding it in German is a bonus :] Thank you. As for Die Toten Hosen; that old of punk isn't really my thing, but I'm sure I'll find a time I can really enjoy it. Thank you as well

I agree, but I'm tired with Rammstein right now

Whoever said Bushido totally stole my answer darn it :P
I vote you listen to a whole ton of Bushido then when you get sick of it switch back to Rammstein... does that work? lol.

Eisbrecher!!!
they're a bit like Rammstein but more electronic

and there's an old metal band called Doro/Warlock (same band; different names depending on when the song was out confusing I know xD) that have a few songs in German or Tokio Hotel etc.
Google it (Y)

This is kind of a hard band to get stuff from but maybe you'll understand their website a bit better than I ever did. Silversurfer.de

Man, I'm in LOVE with Bushido, but I can't find anywhere to get it off of; legal or not so legal. It's not fair, I adore it

I'll definitely check out Eisbrecher and that Doro/Warlock band haha. Thank you :] I'll see what I can get from that Silversurfer.de site, I am pretty good with computers so I just might be able to get some stuff.

Wise Guys, awesome group, and the music is hilarious. Or Tokio Hotel.

Nevada Tan, now they're called Panik but all their albums are out under the name Nevada Tan. They're like a German Linkin' Park.

I agree with Bushido.

So, I actually just visited the Silversurfer website and they actually have one in English, so choose that one and then towards the bottom it says "Start MP3 player now". You can listen to some of their music there.
