Calling All Woodwind! - January 28th 2009, 08:08 AM

What brand of reeds do you use? and do you use plastic ones?

If so, which do you prefer

I use wooden reeds, but I can't rightly recall the name brand. Also, make sure to avoid the "flavored" ones becuse the sugary sticky stuff can get into the instrument...eck. (Didn't learn that the hard way - just saying!) (: x

I knew about the sugars, since i got told off for a) drinking coffee and b) drinking juice before I was meant to play as it also damages the reeds.

Didnt know you got flavoured ones though! :P

The flavors actually aren't bad - there is like...minty and cherry or something. The taste isn't lovely..especially with reed cases, blech. So it's an option, I never invested in them, but eh. x

It took me a while to understand what you were asking I used to play the flute, which is woodwind so I was going to say that, but then I got lost on the 'what reeds to you use' question xD I'm with it now though! But I never even knew that you could get flavoured reeds!
