I like Wicked toooo!! My fave cast... obviously I like the original set (Idina & Kristin, Norbert Leo Butz, etc.), but also Shoshana Bean I thought was AMAZING. I saw it with... Victoria somebody, and she was pretty good. My Glinda was hilarious... it was... *checks program* Christina DeCicco. It was great. I cried :P
Favorite song from the soundtrack? Other than Defying Gravity, of course...
I'm SUPER pumped about the movie, actually. I hope that they use the oringal cast, or at least Idina for it. She's so amazing. What do you think?

Re: Wicked - January 7th 2009, 06:22 PM

I saw it over the summer. It was alright. I had high hopes for it because everyone I went with, had already seen it and said how it amazing it was. So I had really high expectations. It was a great show. Everything from the characters,to the scene setup, to the way they raised characters up in the air,was amazing. But, it didn't meet my high expectations.

Re: Wicked - January 7th 2009, 06:34 PM

WICKED!!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG
I lovveeeeeeee Wicked. But just a little lol.
Personally I loved the play. I saw the Chigago cast three times now lol. I think they were the new ones I believe.
The play itself is brilliant and awesome in every possible way. It's powerful and makes you think. The idea itself about twisting the wizard of oz is so crazy. I mean it forces people to see both sides of the story which is like my big belief lol. I mean...even with this play can you look at Madame Morible's side or The Wizzard's side? It's very "food for thought"ish.
However I wasn't too pleased with the acting of Glinda. Meh...she was energetic but she wasn't youthful enough (personality not looks lol). But the singing and dance were beautiful. Everytime I hear "Defying Gravity" or "Because I Knew You" I get shivvers. Seriously lol.
Overall I'd recomend it. Great show

Re: Wicked - January 8th 2009, 06:20 PM

WICKED IS ACTUALLY THE BEST THING EVERRRR!!!!!!!!
I love the London cast, I can't remeber who I had but I went in June (didn't have kerry ellis I think) so poss after the change over. I know the girl playing elphaba was a black girl who I'd seen in the Lion King as Nala and was AMAZING.
I am also in two minds about the film. If they did it well it could be fantastic. But it could also be crap and completley spoil it. Personally, part of the magic is the atmosphere and I'm worried that might be lost. But agree with you guys, Idina should sooo be in the film too.

Re: Wicked - January 9th 2009, 09:20 PM

I found the books CRAZY hard to get through. I've read the first, the original "Wicked," like five or six times, but only finished it like twice (and once was when I was like ten, so I had absolutely no idea what was going on :P). I own all three books, though... siiigh summer break, they're on my reading list

I'd love to go and see Wicked, I'm in the middle of reading the book at the moment. I heard Kerry Ellis is back so I want to see it before she leaves again because she has an amazing voice <3

Re: Wicked - January 11th 2009, 08:52 PM

It's not the best musical ever, but it's pretty great nonetheless. I saw the traveling show in my city for my birthday last summer and as was expected it wasn't as good as a dedicated production (I spotted two missed lines, brat that I am) but it's just so much fun to watch that it's pretty hard to fuck up entirely.

I don't have a favourite cast. I am ambivalent about the movie. Movies are always different than their stage counterparts. I generally like them despite the changes. We'll see when it comes out?

I saw Wicked over the Christmas holidays in London, thought it was fantastic.
I didn't see Dianne Pilkington though, it was her cover, Sarah Earnshaw. She was still awesome though, as was Kerry Ellis

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE WICKED! omg. best musical ever. i've been listen to the soundtrack for like 3 years and just got to see it in chicago. i get to see it again this summer cuz it's coming to my hometown! i'm actually rather disapointed about the movie though. just because i don't want them to screw it up. and then it'll become even more mainstream. however it theiy do make it a movie, the have to have the original cast. i can't see anyone else being able to pull it off on the big screen.

I love Wicked, I've been to see it once, and i'd definitely see it again! When I went Alexia Khadime was playing Elphaba and Dianne Pilkington was playing Galinda, so they're my favourites Idina Menzel Wasn't bad though.

I'm going to be very original and say I liked the original Broadway cast. No one can beat Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth.

Maybe she'll do the movie, though? Perhaps she was just talking about not going back on stage... I hope that she won't let anyone else play Elphaba in the movie!!
